Banana Bread

If you have over ripe bananas, this is the perfect recipe for you.

Serves: 8

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Cook time:  1 hour

Ingredients

  • 120 g (130 ml) butter
  • 150 g (160 ml) sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 15 ml lemon juice
  • 240 g (430 ml) cake flour
  • 2 ml salt
  • 5 ml bicarbonate of soda
  • 30 ml milk

 

Preheat oven to 180°C . Grease a 18 x 10 cm bread tin. Beat butter and sugar together in an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add each egg one by one and beat well. Pulp bananas in food processor and add lemon juice. Sieve dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients and milk to butter and sugar mixture. Add pulp of bananas together with mixture and beat well. Spoon mixture in bread tin. Bake for 1 hour.  Test with a cake tester to make sure your banana bread is baked.

Bestanddele

  • 120 g (130 ml) botter
  • 150 g (160 ml) suiker
  • 2 eiers
  • 4 ryp piesangs
  • 15 ml suurlemoensap
  • 240 g (430 ml) koekmeel
  • 2 ml sout
  • 5 ml koeksoda
  • 30 ml melk

Verhit oond tot 180 °C. Spuit ‘n 18 x 10 cm broodpan met kleefwerende kossproei. Room botter en suiker saam tot lig en romerig in jou elektriese menger. Voeg eiers een vir een by en klits goed na elke byvoeging. Verpulp piesag in voedselverwerker en voeg suurlemoensap by. Sif droë bestanddele saam en voeg dit om die beurt met die melk by die bottermengsel. Skep in broodpan en plaas in oond. Bak vir 1 uur en toets met ‘n dun pennetjie om seker te maak die broodjie is gaar.
